Lost Money

Boston Red Sox slugger Manny Ramirez makes about 20 million bucks a year playing for the Sox. I guess when you make that kinda scratch $10,000 probably just feels like walking around money.

I know one thing for sure...I could do a LOT of walking with that kinda coin bouncing in my pocket!

In case you missed the story while you were counting all of your walking around money...
Reebok sent Manny a check for 10K and somehow it never made it to his address.

So instead of having someone run it over to Fenway...where I hear he hangs out and plays baseball from time to time...or taking a second and giving him a call, or sending a quick text message...Reebok turned it over to the Massachusetts Abandoned Property Division.

Somehow they were able to track down the elusive outfielder and make sure he got his cash...along with a little interest to boot. But hey, what does Manny care...he'll probably burn that on the way to the parking lot before he climbs into that sweet Mercedes I hear he drives.

Since I'm no big league ball player...and I could use an extra $10,000 to pay for gas and home heating oil...I decided to check and see if I was owed any money. I searched everywhere...in the back of my dresser drawers, old pants...heck I even searched through a box of junk in the basement looking for IOU's...anything that would garner a little green.

The closest thing I could find was a birthday card from two years ago with a homemade coupon from my wife, redeemable for one back massage!

Maybe you'll have better luck than I did. After all, there's $122 million of unclaimed money in the Maine Unclaimed Property Division...and more than 500,000 people in the state are owed some cash...who knows, maybe you're one of them. Go to http://www.cashunclaimed.com/ and find out...good luck.

I think I'm gonna go find my wife and see if I can get that massage...I just hope this coupon hasn't expired!
